Some call it a syndrome. I am here to tell you it’s real: Football Withdrawal. I have it and I’m sad. Why, you ask?
Because football season is over.
And it’s a darned short season, leaving me–and millions of others–wanting more. Unlike other professional sports, like basketball, hockey and baseball, there are only 17 games and then the playoffs (I’m not counting pre-season, but thank you for the reminder, Myren–my chauffeur likes to throw in his two cents now and then.)
In those other sports, the fans are saturated with games left and right, dozens, scores, hundreds of games a year. Those crazy dedicated baseball players sometimes play two games in one day (I always wonder why. Who in their right mind wants to sit in the heat and watch a doubleheader all day?) (Myren tells me it’s the perfect way to take a nap. He would know. He’s an expert napper.)
The Cure?
For me, other than watching re-runs on NFL network or getting caught up in the crazy Tom Brady coming out of retirement speculation, I’m writing and reading all about football–romance that is.
That’s right! My upcoming release, I Want To Know What Love Is, is a college football romance! Sure it has plenty of angst and steam, a drool-worthy hero and a sassy heroine caught up in forbidden love, but more importantly, it has football! Yay! (Myren’s perking up and I see him reaching for the book to check it out…)
Available on Amazon February 18th!
